Back to Basics Follow-Up of February 23 Class

  Teamwork

On February 23, we discussed the view of the Trinity and how the Godhead is one in three "persons." (See texts given in last week's preparation).

It is interesting that some of the issues brought up were very insightful.  Here are a few of those insights:

God invites us to understand him in three ways, each complimenting the other.  The Father, as we understand our earthly father;  Jesus his son, as we understand a brother or friend ; and the Holy Spirit, as we understand the intuitive and sensate part of someone bonded with us through birth or blood, such as a mother.

God relates to us in a variety of ways, allowing us to come to him from different backgrounds and motivations.  In other words, some may be prone to need God's power in their lives at one point, whereas another person may be attracted to his unconditional love.

As God himself shows us what "Trinity life" is like, it helps us to understand what he wants from us in our relationship to others, such as in our marriages, our friendships, our working, and our mentoring.  Even our enemies should be loved as God has pointed out in Matthew, Chapter 5.
