Back to Basics - March 15
Every story that we read in the Bible cause us to gather thoughts about the God we are just beginning to know. It will take an eternity to discover Him, and yet many times we read a chapter or two and think we have Him all figured out. But it doesn't take long before we run into a story that makes us ponder our impression. God is never going to fit in our human-made boxes. Try as we might, God is so much bigger than any of us can comprehend -even if we were to collectively gather all the wisdom of all the world from the beginning of time.
We see God as one who plans for our salvation and eternal salvation. We see him as a friend who stands beside us. But then there are those times when it seems like we don't have a choice, as in the stories of Jonah, or even Moses. Or we see him as a God of punishment, as in the stories of David, or Annias and Saphira . But there is no story that confuses us more than the story of the Rich Man and Lazarus in Luke chapter 16.
What is Hell
