Back to Basics - March 8

As we look around, it's not hard to find some consequence or result of a wrong decision on somebody's part.  Whether it's a man who finds himself in jail for a robbery, or a woman who is in counseling from years of abuse, everyone - in one way or another - pays the price.

In God's word, we read of this happening soon after we get past the second chapter of Genesis.   We see Eve, Adam, and later we see their sons, all fatally affected by their choice to distrust God as the Lord of their lives.  This caused a chain of events that would ultimately murder Jesus Christ, the only truly innocent man that has ever lived.  However, from this chaos that killed an innocent man, God was able to work out His plan to save man.  It is what we call the gift of a salvation, which is God's way of saying, here is my answer to the question that was presented to Adam and Eve; Can God Be Trusted?

For us today it is important to realize that sin started before that bite of forbidden fruit in the Garden of Eden.  There is no mistaking the fact that an option for evil was available to Adam and Eve while they were still living on a planet void of sin.  Which means that the question presented to humans was the same question previously asked in Heaven as to whether God's way could really be trusted.

So how do we know this?  Where do we find reference to this incident in Heaven?.  Where do we find the origin of sin?  When we start to understand how it began, then we begin to understand why it has lingered for so long.
