Give Thanks to the Lord
November 19, 2016
So often when we pray, we come to God like a child approaching Santa at Christmas – with our wish list. Our mind so easily turn to deficits, defects and diseases, and so we pray for abundance to meet deficits, perfection to replace defects, and health and healing to conqueror disease. There’s nothing wrong with asking God for all these things – to keep our wants, needs, and aspirations all before God because he cares. But most authentically, we simply pray a prayer of “Thank You!” In the spirit of Thanksgiving, we will consider some of our reasons for saying “thank you” to God.
