Unfinished Christian, Imperfect Church

Even when we try, our hearts are rarely, if ever, pure and our efforts have unintended consequences—sometimes radically unintended consequences. Worse yet, the example of our lives can sometimes reveal characteristics we would never want attributed to God: greed, selfishness, judgment, laziness, impatience, etc. And sometimes we don’t even have good intentions. So why should we try? Does God really need our help? Wouldn’t he be better off if we just led quiet lives of obscurity and let him do the work?
